The sheet metal formed pieces went together very well. The pictures showing how the assembly went into the existing framework under the A/C unit could use some clarification. It finally dawned on me I was trying to push it in too high on the existing frame and should have centered it on the frame. Clarfication of the flanges with relation to the top and bottom flanges and the center of the frame work might help it go quicker and easier. My assembly was the horizontal assy.

I read the reviews and decided to purchase the upgrade. It was no problem to install. The system was not old enough for me to have replaced the filter media but i can see how it would have taken longer with the 2200 system. A pleasure to do business with Aprilaire!

The filter upgrade kit was easy to use, no problems at all. We recently purchased the home and I went online to learn about the Aprilaire system as I was not familiar with it. I am not sure of the cost of your filters as compared to other systems and the cost depends upon the replacement schedule. Could you tell me more about the recommended filter replacement schedule? I read somewhere that replacing them more often than needed does not necessarily improve the efficiency of the furnace. I want a balance between keeping our house clean, high furnace efficiency and low furnace filter costs. Thanks you in advance for whatever filter replacment schedule/guidelines you can provide.

The Upgrade Kit and Filter arrived promptly and fitted into the Spaceguard 2200 casing very easily. The use of integral wire spacers is a great improvement over the individual plastic spacers used on earlier maodels, to keep the filter material in a separated fanfold configuration. I would certainly recommend this kit to anyone due to replace their older model. Brian.

The entire proces worked pretty well, but I have a suggestion. I watched the installation video online before purchasing and after. I am particularly unhandy, so I need all the help I can get. What stumped me at first after receiving the kit was that I could not get the kit together. All I had to do was turn over the bottom and top pieces and it went together fine, which was different from the way it was packed. I know, I know--Duh! Such details are difficult to see in the video even though I watched it multiple times. After making such a confession, should I really give you the information below?

The install was quite easy to upgrade the filter. Not sure how well it will work long-term vs the old ones, but just replacing the old filter that used those brittle plastic combs to this new semi-rigid filter was worth it alone. Replacement filter costs are about 20% more, but if it lasts as long or performs as well as the old one its definately worth it. I have pollen and dust allergies, so this spring will be the real test. Thanks for making an easy to use kit for the upgrade, and thanks for having an online video to visually show how easy it is to install the upgrade.

Viewed video on putting kit together. Directions to put together were detailed which made kit easy to assemble. The hardest part was climbing the ladder to put the unit in the attic where the furnace is. The filter is much thicker than the old one. Just installed it so I don't how well it works yet, but I think the fibers will attract more dust.
