The replacement strainer is more substantial than the fabric strainer it replaced in my humidifier. When I removed the old screen, I found it had been blown open at the end, allowing a small piece of sediment to hold the solenoid vavle open (and wasting who knows how much water). The new screen is hard, perforated plastic, which I expect will plug instead of disintegrate when full - a much more acceptable failure mode for a filter in my opinion, at least on systems that depend on that filtration to protect downstream components.

Strainer Screen Replacement by ( )

Replace the strainer screen if you do not have a full steady stream of water from the hose that feeds the water panel. The screen is extremely small but an important part of the system to work properly. The screen in located on the inlet side of the water valve.
